Services

Every mom deserves a supportive postpartum experience, regardless of financial limitations. At The Held Mother, I believe in removing barriers to care. That’s why I offer all of my services through a pay-what-you-can, sliding scale model. We can work together to co-create a plan that fits your budget, including exploring flexible payment options. This ensures all families, no matter their situation, have access to the support they need during this crucial time.

Please don’t let cost keep you from connecting with me!

Postpartum Support

Hourly rate: $50/hour, with limited sliding scale and equity adjustment options

Every family’s needs are unique, so before we embark on this journey together, we’ll schedule a free virtual or in-person consultation. This is your chance to ask questions, share your goals and concerns, and see if I’m the right postpartum doula for you. Building trust and creating ease are crucial to this journey, and I want you to feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process.

Once we decide to partner, together we’ll craft a customized plan for your Support Sessions that can include:

  • Nourishing meal prep

  • Light housekeeping (such as dishes, laundry, decluttering, etc.)

  • Running errands

  • Sibling support

  • Emotional support + check-ins

  • Resources and community connections

  • Baby care so you can rest and recharge

  • Text and call support, for all those “Is this normal?” questions

  • Plus more! Tell me what you need, and I’ll see how I can help

Return-to-Work Support

$300, with limited sliding scale and equity adjustment options

In my experience, one very overlooked transition for working moms is the point at which they have to go back to work after an already abysmally short parental leave. That’s why I offer support services for this critical time.

There’s a lot happening in this transition: You might be sad about leaving your baby and feel a physical ache at the thought. You also might be excited to wear real clothes again and interact with adults. Your brain is still foggy and you’re afraid you can’t string a sentence together anymore. If this is your second or third kid, you’re also worried about juggling everyone's needs all the time, and you never learned how to juggle. I GET IT.

Most importantly: You might be afraid that this new person you’re becoming is really different from the person who used to work at your job. That’s all so normal, and completely ok. After the birth of my first kid, I ended up quitting my job because I knew it wasn’t a good fit for me anymore. (This can happen to partners too! My partner left his job after the birth of our second kid for the same reason.)

Being a working parent is HARD:

  • I once had a late meeting at work, which caused me to get stuck in traffic on the way to pick up my daughter from childcare, which meant I’d have less time with her in the evening. I sobbed the whole drive there.

  • I have absolutely pumped in a warehouse closet before because I had to help facilitate a client workshop.

  • I have a friend who was so crunched for time in the morning, between packing her work bag, her pump bag, her baby’s bag, that she walked out of the house in two completely different shoes, then wore them all day long.

The struggle is so very real, and working moms deserve way more. Together, we can build a plan of support for this time.

Return-to-Work Support includes:

  • Initial 1-hour call/ in-person visit before your return-to-work date. We’ll chat about your fears and worries, talk about some goals you might have, and create a plan for setting boundaries to honor your shifting identity

  • Check-in call/in-person visit 1 week into your return to work to assess what’s working, what’s not, and what levers can be pulled to help you adjust

  • Final call/in-person visit 1 month into your return

  • Helpful exercises and resources to help you drill down on your needs, boundaries and available support systems

  • Text support throughout the first month

  • Option to continue support after the first month through additional calls

You have hope in your womb, busy hands preparing a nest. You have breast milk on your shirt, exhaustion in your soul. You have cheerios on the living room rug, crackers crushed in car seats. You have fingerprints smeared on glass doors, art projects taped to walls. You have body changes, math equations and a swiftly changing world to explain.

You also have 10 minutes.

That’s all it takes to start writing your motherhood story–one small snippet at a time.

Join a group of other mothers seeking to explore the intuitive voice within. Prompts will be provocative, stirring us to let it all out on the page in 10-minute bursts. Then, we’ll take turns sharing and listening, holding our words in a tight, sacred circle. Together, we’ll weave our individual experiences into a beautiful narrative tapestry of community, connection and sisterhood.
